Dear Keystone,
Let me first start by saying a very big thank you to our past volunteers whose tireless work laid the foundation of the Keystone Odessa Community Plan. We recognize the value and sensitivity in making any changes and impact it would cause. There were several present at the meeting on Thursday and we appreciate you attending, and look forward to you helping us continue the same path in the future.
Thank you as well to those who attended or emailed in their thoughts. I felt we had a good turnout from the community for the discussion. Overall, there were several points that were made, so I'll do my best to summarize at a very high level, as we have more work to do.
The bylaw does not clearly define the members of the KCA. This is what needs to be updated.
KOCP border will not be modified. It is the governmental document that defines our area and is known to Hillsborough County as this is what makes us strong.
Agreement was made that the Eagles development will not be included, which is part of 33556, but does not align with the same initiatives as a major development.
The corner of Mobley and Gunn (Keystone Plaza, Ace Hardware, Lake Maurine, GPeppers) is not part of the KOCP. There are a couple members present that live in Lake Maurine that are members but not in the KOCP boundary.
There were no other areas that seemed to be controversial for inclusion.
Next steps:
A motion was made to create a Bylaw Committee to review the membership. Please email info@keystonecivic.org if you would like to be on the committee. From these committee meeting(s), a recommendation will be brought to the membership for vote to update the bylaw at a future meeting to be determined.
Please reach out with any comments or concerns, we would love to hear from you! Thank you for your support!
