The Keystone Connection
July 2026

Extra Extra Read All About It Read all the way through there is a lot of thanks going out to so many KCA members.
Newsletters will now be published a few days before the general meeting. No general meeting in July. Please attend our Political Forum details below
Dear KCA members,
We hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far. If you are lucky enough to have gone up to the mountains you got a well-deserved break from the heat. Many of us are finally getting much needed rain. However, we are still in an "extreme" water shortage. We are carrying a regional rainfall deficit of approximately 13.7 inches compared to the 12-month average. The Southwest Florida Water Management has extended the water restriction order through at least October 1, 2026. Please comply!!!! Check on this link for what day you can water. KEYSTONE FLYERS
Did you receive your Keystone flyer in the mail? Some mailings went out a little later, but they should all be in mailboxes by July 21. We tried to get a flyer to every resident and business in the Keystone community. It is our hope that we significantly increase our membership. There are hundreds of people who do not know about the KCA. We hope to reach those people and bring back people who used to be a KCA member. It would be helpful if you could take yours and your neighbor's flyers to local businesses for more exposure. You can also bring them back to the next KCA meeting. We may be able to reuse them in different ways. A special thank you and sincere shout out to Lina Sferi. She is the proprietor of the UPS store on Gunn and Anderson. Not only did she give us a great price on printing. She added extra touches on the flyer and really make it pop. Go see her for your printing and designing needs.

THERE IS NO KCA GENERAL MEETING IN JULY. BACK TO OUR REGULAR SCHEDULE IN AUGUST
WE HAVE A LOT OF THANK YOU'S TO PASS OUT.
Janice and Carroll Streetman have donated an amplifier and 2 microphones for our meetings. We will be testing it for our Political Forum. In addition, the Streetman’s were kind enough to offer their tech guy David to help fix many of the glitches on our website. Check out the Streetman's business sponsorship. Full Spectrum ABA provides therapy for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder and related diagnoses.
We are happy to have Mark Hughes Arborist Aboard back as a KCA sponsor. Arborist Aboard not only trims and remove trees but they can help save stressed trees. Check out their many services for trees and other landscaping needs.
Brenda and Frank Crum have made a very generous contribution to our legal fund. Their business, Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch in on 150 acres and has around 180 alpacas. They have scheduled tours for the public where you can learn everything from raising to shearing Alpacas.
Dr. Jerry and Lynn Consentino made an amazing donation to our civic fund which we are using to offset the expense of our mailed flyers to the Keystone residents. Thanks Jerry, it all started with our brainstorming session at our last KCA Social at Three Brothers.
Nate Smith is not only an excellent custodian of our KCA money but also works tirelessly with the IRS to make our organization compliant as a nonprofit. Recently, Nate also donated a nice monetary contribution to our organization.

KCA General Meeting June 25, 2026
Thank you, Angie Cantrell, for the lovely fourth of July celebration table. We can always count on you to make it festive. This month we served sandwiches from Keystone Corner.
Barbara Alderhold gave updates on the Political Forum. Barbara will be the monitor of the forum. Have your questions prepared in advance. Many of the candidates have already RSVP.
We also continued our discussion of the KOCP. Most of the committee members were in attendance and they agreed upon a time to do a zoom call.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30
Do you want more details about our meetings? Come on out!!!
Free food, great company and all the updates of the goings on in Keystone

Look at how beautiful Mark and his crew from Arborist Aboard made the Keystone monument. They pressure washed and cut back brush so now you can actually see it. Anyone have any ideas how we can fix the "E"????

Adopt a Road
Angela Cantrell is our Adopt a Road organizer.
On June 6 three board members, Angie, Nate and Jane met at Keystone Park at 7:00 am. We outfitted ourselves with neon vests and gloves grabbed our pickers and plastic bags and off we went. A few minutes later Jan Nelson joined us. Her husband had been traveling down Gunn Highway and spotted us. Apparently, Jan likes to pick up trash too!! When we were done, the west and east side of Gunn near the Keystone Park was FREE FROM DEBRIS

WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT OUR KCA SOCIAL Thank you Regina Hernandez for coordinating

There were a few of us who met up at Three Brothers on June 4 to enjoy some suds and pizza. It is such a nice, and relaxing place to unwind. Keystone was still on our mind, and we had some great ideas for growing our membership. Our next social will be in a couple of months. Hope to see you there.
Become a Business Sponsor! KCA will advertise your business logo in our newsletter and our website. We will also do shoutouts on Facebook.
